Livingston HealthCare Hospice has served the local community for over 20 years. Hospice is not a place, but a concept of care, and whenever possible, hospice care is offered at home. Care provided in the home allows patients to live their final days to the fullest, surrounded by their loved ones. Families can be together when it means the most, supporting the patient's final days with peace, comfort, and dignity.

Meet Our Caring Hospice Team

Typically, a family member serves as the primary caregiver and, when appropriate, helps make decisions for the patient. Members of our Livingston hospice care staff make regular visits to assess the patient and provide additional care, and staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are able to provide a wide range of services from physical and occupational therapy to family counseling. The hospice team is made up of the patient's family, caregivers, physician, and other professionals.

Other members of a patient’s care team may include:

  • Registered nurse case manager
  • Home health aide
  • Volunteer coordinator
  • Volunteers
  • Medical social worker
  • Bereavement coordinator
  • Spiritual care coordinator

The Livingston HealthCare Foundation Hospice Endowment was established to support the Hospice program and address the greatest needs of hospice patients. The fund originated through a lead gift from Frances Stafford in memory of her husband, Gerald, along with memorial contributions honoring Alex Squillace, given by his wife, Miriam.
