Livingston HealthCare Response to Recent Advertisements
(Livingston, MT) Livingston HealthCare (LHC recently became aware of a local advertisement suggesting its hospital, along with other rural hospitals in Montana, was closed or would soon be closed.
It is important our staff and community understand that, while we always appreciate the public being made aware of the issues affecting healthcare today, Livingston HealthCare is not under threat of closure. We are here; we are open; and we remain ready to meet our mission of providing the community with quality health care that accommodates our community’s specific needs.
We want to thank the staff of Livingston HealthCare and the community for its vital continuing support.
Ads depicting Livingston HealthCare that suggest it is closed were not coordinated with or endorsed by the hospital’s administration or its board. Livingston HealthCare, its administration, and its board were NOT INVOLVED with the development or placement of these advertisements.
As a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, Livingston HealthCare DOES NOT take a position on political candidate races and is not supporting any political candidate. Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations like Livingston HealthCare are prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Therefore, we wanted to make certain there was no misunderstanding as to where we are as a community care provider.
