Provider Bio
Kayli Christophel, MPAS, PA-C, joined Livingston HealthCare in June 2019
as a member of our expanding behavioral health services team. Kayli has
been in practice as a psychiatric physician assistant since 2012. She
has worked with her supervising physician, Dr. Bruce Swarny, MD, for more
than six years and has experience in the treatment of a variety of mental
health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic
disorders, ADHD and substance abuse.
Kayli is a third generation Montanan and was raised in a small town in
northeast Montana. As a child, she watched a family member receive treatment
for—and recover from—a mental health disorder. This launched
a lifelong interest in mental health and a passion for expanding services
to the far reaches of the state. She believes that recovery and management
for mental illness are best accomplished with a combination of approaches
that can include medication, lifestyle change and therapy.
“My patients will find that I have a very holistic approach to treatment.
Evidence-based approaches with medication have a role in my practice,
but I also regard lifestyle changes and the cultivation of healthy thought
patterns as powerful medicine,” says Kayli.
Kayli completed her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Physician Assistant
Studies (MPAS) at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. She enjoys
exploring the outdoors, reading and connecting with her family during
her leisure time. Patients may be surprised to learn that Kayli has an
affinity for rocks and was strongly considering a career in paleontology
before deciding to pursue a career in medicine.
