Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Livingston HealthCare Physical Therapists provide evidence-based therapy
services in the outpatient setting to individuals with impairments, functional
limitations, disabilities, or changes in health status due to injury,
disease, or other causes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing ethical, safe, and quality Physical Therapy services for patients
per standard of practice set forth in the American Physical Therapy Association
Code of Ethics and Guide for Professional Conduct as well as the state
of Montana Physical Therapy Examiners Rules and Statues.
- Producing timely and accurate documentation of all patient care sessions,
including initial evaluations with plan of care, daily treatment notes,
progress reports/updated plan of cares, and discharge summaries, within
2 business days of a treatment session.
- Sharing in the responsibility of weekend and holiday hospital coverage
in a rotation with all other Staff Physical Therapists.
- Communicating with physicians and other healthcare practitioners regarding
patient care and changes in patient status using appropriate communication
outlets including but not limited to email, Cerner Message Center, phone,
Cortext, and verbal discussion.
- Attending monthly staff meetings and other meetings as warranted by department manager.
- Actively participating in Performance and Process Improvement.
- Supervising Physical Therapist Assistants as directed by the state practice act.
- Assisting with maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Internal chart audits as requested by Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
- Livingston HealthCare required annual competency course(s).
- CPR Certification
- Completion of continuing education courses to maintain state licensure
and to advance skills and abilities.
- Supervision of PT and PTA students.
- Communication with teammates within the department and organization using
organization appropriate tools such as email, phone, and text.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS (required):
- Graduate of an APTA credentialed Physical Therapy Training Program.
- Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Montana.
- In good standing with current state licensing board.
- Drivers license in good standing in State of Montana

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Based on the Livingston HealthCare’s physical demand classification,
the working conditions of this job are defined as Medium to medium-heavy.
Although on occasion an employee may be required to lift, carry, push,
or pull objects or patients heavier than said classification, with or
without assistance. Occasionally required to walk or stand for extended
periods of time.
MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT
Frequently required to operate electrical/mechanical equipment used in
patient care. Use of computer required with management duties, competency
training, reviewing clinical information systems, and documentation.
EXPOSURE
Occasional exposure to contact with chemicals, moving objects, confined
spaces, slippery surfaces, blood, and body fluids. Rare exposure to contagions,
chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noise.
