For high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, the Livingston HealthCare School-to-Work Program is a perfect opportunity to see what those jobs are really like.
The program is open to all Park and Shields Valley High School students. Once enrolled, the students spend some time in each department, learning how all the areas of Livingston HealthCare work and interact. After completing this rotation, they can choose an area of focus where they will spend the rest of the semester “shadowing” an employee and learning the ropes. Students keep a journal of their experiences that is reviewed regularly. Depending on school requirements, students may also have to schedule a presentation on their experience.
To enroll, call Geri Lester at 406-823-6438. She coordinates with the school and supervises School-to-Work students. Once enrolled, students must have a TB test and attend a two hour orientation.
